EARLY BIRD SALE EXTENDED

SELKIRK, MB– The Selkirk Steelers Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club announces that the current Early Bird Season Ticket Sale will be extended to June 30, 2015. The initial sale commenced June 01, 2015 and was to conclude on June 21, 2015.

“After further consideration, the Organization felt that it was important to extend the current sale to allow fan’s the best opportunity to take advantage of one of the most affordable season ticket prices in the MJHL”. said David Obirek, Selkirk Steelers General Manager.

With some teams in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) now reaching the $300 and above mark for season ticket prices, the Steelers are committed to providing quality value at a family affordable price. Junior ‘A’ Hockey season tickets across the Western Provinces are seeing prices reach $325 – $400. The Steelers will continue to remain in the top three most affordable season tickets in the MJHL even with an increase.

“We are aware that some fans have shown displeasure with our price increases. With the increase in operating costs especially in the past 5-years, we felt that in order to stay viable it was time to re-evaluate our pricing at all levels. As a not-for-profit organization, it costs approximately $275,000 – $350,000 to operate a Club in the MJHL. ” said David Obirek, Selkirk Steelers General Manager.

The Steelers rely heavily on Corporate Partnerships and Season Ticket sales to help fund a major portion of its annual operating costs.
