Selkirk Steelers 2018 Auto Protected Players

Ahead of this weekends 2018 MJHL Draft the Selkirk Steelers announce the names of their two auto protect players.

Forward Nate Goodbrandson of St. Andrews, (G 31, A 46) and goalie Cole Plowman of St. Clements, (GAA 2.46, SV% .908), both of the Bantam (B1) Winnipeg Hawks.

Both players were instrumental in the Hawks league championship winning team and both played key roles in securing the Hawks bronze medal at the Western Canadian Bantam AAA Championship. In the championship game Goodbrandson scored the winning overtime goal and Plowman was game MVP.

Coach Lubimiv on the two auto protects; “Goodbrandson is a big power forward with excellent puck skills. He has great vision and is hard on the puck. Cole Plowman, is a big goalie with good mechanics. He battles for his space and has solid rebound control.”

Coach Lubimiv added; “the Steelers are very fortunate to have many quality players from our area and it is a reflection of the development of the minor hockey systems.”
