Steelers 2018 Bantam Draft Results

The Selkirk Steelers 2018 Draft results are as follows;

With the 5th pick in the 1st round the Steelers selected Jared Chapel of the RHA Bantam Nationals. Chapel (5’9”, 159lbs), from St. Andrews shoots left and plays defence.

In the 2nd round, 16th overall the Steelers selected Mathieu Catellier from the Bantam Winnipeg Sharks. Catellier (5’10, 150lbs) plays center and shoots right.

In the 3rd round (27th overall) the Steelers selected Samuel Mitani of the Bantam Winnipeg Monarchs. Mitani (5’6”, 125lbs) shoots right and plays defence.

The Steelers last pick of the day (4th round, 38th overall) the Steelers selected Michael Tanchak of the Bantam Winnipeg Warriors. Tanchak (5’6”, 130lbs) plays forward and shoots left.

The Steelers only had four selections in this year’s draft as the last two picks (5th & 6th round) had been traded away in previous transactions.

Coach Lubimiv on the day, “we are very happy with how the draft went for us today. With only 4 picks we went 4 for 4. All players were high  on our list and we were happy they were still available when our pick came around.”
