Steelers Drop Close One in Overtime

The Selkirk Steelers began their second half to the season with an overtime thriller in Steinbach on Saturday. First period proved nothing, until Steinbach got on the board first in the second period. Nate Halvorsen answered with his 19th of the season to knot it up at 1.

Third period started with the Steelers trailing by a score of 2-1 until Halvorsen scored his second of the night to tie it at 2 to force overtime. 2:55 into overtime, Steinbach’s Daniel McKitrick scored, making it 3-2 the final. Hayden Dola saved 51 of 54 shots in the contest.
