STEELERS FORMER GOALIE ACCEPTS SCHOLARSHIP Selkirk, Mb- The Selkirk Steelers announce that former goaltender Joey Rewucki has accepted a scholarship to play for the University of Manitoba Bison’s men’s hockey team for the upcoming 2013-2014 season.
Rewucki, originally from East St. Paul was an original draft pick of the Steelers and played four years starting with the 2008/09 season. During his time with the Steelers, Rewucki played in 168 games compiling a 3.22 goals against average and a career .911 save %. He was a three time all-star, Steelers MVP in 2010 and was twice nominated by the MJHL for the leagues top goaltender.
“My full congratulations go out to Joey on accepting this scholarship. He should be very proud of this accomplishments and for having such an great career. As an organization, we are constantly trying to promote our players to the next level, whether that is NCAA, WHL, CIS or Professional. The entire Steelers Organization is proud of Joey and we wish him all the best at the U of M” says Head Coach Ryan Smith.
