STEELERS COMPLETE FREDERICKSEN TRADE WITH OIL CAPITALS

SELKIRK, MB– The Selkirk Steelers are pleased to announce the acquisition of 18-year- old(1996) Defenceman Taylor FISHER from the Virden Oil Capitals, as part of the future considerations in the Soren FREDERICKSEN trade during the 2014/15 campaign.

The acquisition of FISHER who hails from Winnipeg completes the  five player deal that saw the Steelers send 20-year-old FREDERICKSEN, list player Nathan WALL of the AAA Central Plains Capitals and a 5th round draft pick in the upcoming 2015 Bantam Draft. The clubs will also switch positions in the 1st round of the Bantam draft.

The Steelers previously received in return, 20-year-old(1994) Goaltender Teagan SACHER and 19- year-old(1995) Defenceman Bradley REICHARDT.

“We are very excited to have Taylor join our program. He brings size and experience while entering his 3rd season in the league. The steady blue liner has an offensive touch as well as a gritty side” said Ken Petrash, Selkirk Steelers Director of Hockey Operations.

“Taylor is a welcome addition to our club. He is a character guy with good offensive numbers who will bring size and veteran leadership to our line-up” said Wayne Bartley, Selkirk Steelers Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel
