Steelers Sign Three Thunder Bay Players

Steelers Sign 3 from Thunder Bay

It’s been 10 years since the Steelers have had a player out of Thunder Bay. It’s probably no coincidence that the last time the Steelers won the MJHL, players such as fan favorites Adam Sergerie, Steve Sleep and Anavet Cup Captain Andrew Fernandez were part of the team.

Steelers GM Ken Petrash on the 3 players “I thought it was high time that we brought in some T-Bay boys. These 3 players are all highly skilled but also have that Thunder Bay mentality of we win at all costs attitude. All 3 were a big part of the team that played for the Western Regional Championship this past spring. The players had many junior A teams after them, we are glad they chose Selkirk. It’s rewarding when you can add 3 junior ready players directly to your roster”.

Evan Nicholas

Skilled gritty centre who plays a 2 way game. Assistant captain with great leadership skills.

Matt Caruso

At 5 10” Matt plays more like he is 6’4” always the first guy in the corner and will go through you before around you. Also has a good touch around the net.

The Steelers would like to thank the boys and their families for choosing Selkirk as their Jr A hockey program of choice. We welcome all 3 to Steeltown!
