Deboer, helps to tame the Stampeders

Selkirk Steelers came into this game with a chip on their shoulder.  After having three straight losses; the two most recent being since returning from Christmas  break, made it clear that they wouldn’t be going down without a battle.

The Stampeders opened up the scoring early in the second period, but the Steelers stood firm against their run and tacked on the two goals that would lead them to their 2 – 1 victory and ending the drought.

Austin Deboer; who played goaltender for this competition, in his first regular season game, stacked his pads for 23 saves of the 24 shots on net and helped lead the Steelers to their victory.
