Former Steeler Pleskach Named to AHA 2nd Team All Star

3/19/2013 5:04:00 PM HAVERHILL, Mass. – Senior defenseman Jeff Ceccacci (Placentia, Calif.), senior goaltender Ben Meisner (Halifax, N.S.) and senior forward Adam Pleskach (Beausejour, Man.) have been named to the 2013 Atlantic Hockey Association All-Conference Team, it was announced following a vote of the AHA head coaches.
Meisner and Pleskach were both named second-team all-conference selections, while Ceccacci was a third-team pick. Pleskach earned all-conference honors for the third time in his career, while Ceccacci and Meisner were honored for the first time.
Ceccacci skated in all 35 games in his final season on the blue line at AIC, scoring one goal with 14 assists for 15 points. His 14 assists were the second-most on the team this season and matched his career-high of 14 assists as a junior. He took to the ice in 125 games in his collegiate career, scoring nine goals with 48 assists for 57 points.
Meisner had a career year as a senior, and in doing so set several new AIC and Atlantic Hockey records. Meisner tallied 11 wins with a 2.98 goals against average and a .923 save percentage, setting a new AIC Division I single-season record in each category. His 1,109 saves this season were the second-highest total in a single season ever at AIC.
Meisner totaled a school and Atlantic Hockey record 3,684 career saves, which place him 12th on the all-time NCAA Division I career saves list. He also set new school career records for goals against average (3.28), save percentage (.911), wins (30) and shutouts (8).
Pleskach, who was named a third-team all-conference selection last season and was an all-rookie pick as a freshman, led the Yellow Jackets in scoring for the fourth consecutive season with 15 goals and a career-best 17 assists for a career-high 32 points. He is the first player at AIC since the program went Division I in 1998-99 to be named an all-conference selection three times.
Pleskach skated in 138 games in his four seasons at AIC, and finished his career ranked second in the Division I era of the program with 59 career goals and 56 career assists for 115 career points. His 115 career points tie him for 29th on the all-time scoring list.
The Yellow Jackets posted an overall record of 12-17-6 in 2012-13 and finished ninth in the Atlantic Hockey standings with a league record of 9-12-6 for 24 points.
