The Selkirk Steelers have acquired the CJHL playing rights of 20 year old forward Ryan Sokoloski from the Portage Terriers. Sokoloski has spent the past three seasons with the Terriers and was a big part of their past championship teams. “Ryan brings added leadership to our group which already is strong in experience and ability”- Coach Lubimiv “Soko’s speed, competitiveness, and versatility will complement our top line group very well.”- Lubimiv
Also coming to the Steelers in the trade is 2001 listed defenceman, Ryden Fedyck. Fedyck played last season with the Wpg Thrashers in the Manitoba Midget AAA League. “Ryden is a big, tough, physical defenceman who is a good skater and good puck skills.” – Lubimiv
Going the other way in the trade are 2000 Fwd Ben Coppinger and ’99 G Dylan Myskiw. Both Myskiw and Coppinger are with their respective WHL teams. Teams also exchanged future considerations in the trade.
