Steelers came out ready for a spirited competition, and spirited was just that.
Late in the first period, Stampeders put one passed Steelers goaltender, Zach Bennett. Early in the second period, the Steelers responded with two goals of their own. It wouldn’t be until the third period before Selkirk added one more to the scoreboard, trying to lessen the gap in this 5 – 3 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders.
Not to go without some extra curricular activity late in the third. Bradly Goethals, a one time Selkirk Steeler, was tripped up on what would have been an open net goal, decided to end the night and goal celebration with a fisticuffs dance with Connor Barley. The two combatants were both handed fighting majors and a ten minute game misconduct for the duel.
Zach Bennett, put the pads up against 24 of the 28 shots on net.
Selkirk Steelers goals were scored by; Nate Halvorsen ASST: Brady Pupp. Brett Namaka ASST: Blake Burr, Will Middleton. Ryan Sokoloski ASST: Colby Jaquet
