Steelers mark a ‘W’ against the Natives

Coming off a loss just the day before, the Steelers looked to come out of the gates at the Yellowhead Centre with determination.

Midway through the first period, the Steelers put one passed the Natives goaltender to take a lead.  Although the Natives countered a few minutes later, the Steelers were set in taking the win in this competition.

The Second and Third periods started out quite similar and would become an end to end battle to the goaltenders.  Overtime would be no different, this game was going to be decided in a shootout.

Keenan Allan would put this one away for the Selkirk Steelers and put a notch in the Win category.

Austin Deboer would stand tall for 31 of 34 shots taken against him.

Selkirk Steelers goals were scored by; Caiden Gault (2) (G1): Blake Burr, Tanner Pochipinski, (G2): Ryan Piwniuk, Ryan Ostermann.  Ryan Ostermann ASST: Ryan Piwniuk, Cole Wigestrand.  Keenan Allan – winning shootout goal
